Pumpkin Math & Carving

Happy Halloween from the AFY garden! Yesterday our 5th graders completed math activities with pumpkins and carved their pumpkins afterwards. They worked in groups of 4 on measuring lengths and circumferences. They then made estimates on weights and number of seeds while using subtraction and addition tools to help with their actual findings. At the end of the day each group designed and carved out their own pumpkins with pumpkins saws. Check out their fabulous work below.
