Fall Garden Work Day Success

Finishing Up the Lower Middle School Entry Planting

A big thank you to all the students, parents, families, and volunteers who came out this morning to help improve upon our green schoolyard spaces during the district-wide garden work day. We had K-8 students and their families working hard to accomplish all of the following goals today: deep watering of our vegetable beds, weeding, mulching garden pathways with wood chips, and focusing on our project of the day, which was completing the planting and irrigation of the lower portion of the middle school entry area. Come take a peek at the middle school entry at some point or stick around and have a seat to enjoy the views. It keeps looking even more beautiful as we add more plants! Our green schoolyard spaces are always in need of helping hands throughout the year. If you are interested in doing some general maintenance, such as weeding, watering, and tidying up the spaces during a time that works well for you, please contact Ms. Fung at pfung@educationoutside.org. Lastly, a big thank you to Jennifer Louie, Mary-Beth Pudup, and Jade Moy for working behind the scenes to help prepare for today’s work day. Here are some photo recaps from today. Have a great weekend and rest up for those of you that came out!
