Green Club Farmers Market Trip

Green Club 2013 at the Farmer's Market

Our Middle School Green Club has been meeting every Wednesday after school since the end of September. Our 18 member club has been busy at work in the garden, helping with various projects and planning for our first school garden market. Last week we all took a field trip down to the Upper Haight Farmers Market via public transit to see what was going on, and to enjoy an outing together. A few of our club members have written about our time at the Farmers Market and general Green Club activities. We’ll be sharing a new story by our club members for the next 3 weeks, so stay in tune for more! Here is our first installment. Enjoy! – Ms. Fung

“Green Club” by Gabriella and Katie

Have you ever been in a club that was outside in nature? Well, if you haven’t you should join one. Our green club is full of fun and joy. We all accept each other, but sometimes we fight yet in a good and friendly way. In the green club we do different kinds of activities like mulching, drawing, weeding, painting, pruning, seed saving, and other cool stuff!

So one day the courageous green club set out to venture to the Haight Farmers Market, and had a surprise, for there was a magically overpriced deep fried corn dog stand called, “Sticks”. I found out that it was amazingly delicious, and totally worth the money (to me anyways).

Sticks’ corn dogs are mighty delicious! They’re at the Glen Park Farmers Market on Sundays through November 24th.
