First School Garden Market

Fall Garden Market 2013Thank you to all the students, community, and family members who came out to support our first school garden farmers market. Without any expectations for how it would all pan out, we had a wonderful and successful turnout! All of our produce was picked fresh the same day from the school garden. The middle school Green Club has been working throughout the semester in preparation for the market. They created their own market poster, decorated the flyers, saved seeds, decided on prices and items to vend, helped to harvest, and made crafts, such as handmade cards from pressed garden flowers. We learned that the most popular items were the seed packets made from seeds in the garden, cards, Bok Choy, and Broccoli. Keep an eye out for the posters around campus advertising the next market! (The school garden market is located outside of the Multipurpose room after school). Here are some photographs from the day as well as photos of what’s been growing this Fall up in the garden.
