“It feels like a pillow!”

Our kindergarten students are learning all about the 5 senses by using them in the outdoor classroom!

We used our owl eyes during a color hunt…

…our coyote ears to listen to our environment (we heard birds chirping, wind blowing and insects buzzing!)…

…our dog noses to smell the herb bed…

…our raccoon paws to compare the feel of geranium leaves (which felt “like a pillow!”) and wood chips (which…didn’t)…

…and our lizard tongues to taste sorrel!  YUM!

When asked to pick a favorite sense, most students said taste.  Not too surprising!  We’re a class full of lizards!
